The 2017 Lincoln Navigator and the 2017 Ford Expedition are both luxury SUV arriving in 2016 and going on sale in 2017 but they have some differences that set each apart from the other and there are things that should be considered before one makes a purchase. The 2017 Ford Expedition is the latest full size SUV edition from the Ford Motor Company, and is expected to make its debut in 2016. Its concept will introduce eight different trim levels. On the other hand, the 2017 Lincoln Navigator is expected to arrive in the maker of aluminum, which will make it lighter than the current edition.
Interior and Exterior Design:
Reports have it that the 2017 Ford Expedition, will keep the conventional SUV look although it has gone through some changes like a body made from boron steel and aluminum, making it light weight and reducing its weight by 200 to 300 pounds. The front has been made powerful while the chrome grille, front bumper and dead-lights have changed and it sports automatic doors. The seats will come in three rows accommodating 8 passengers, the interior will be made of wood with infotainment, navigation systems and improved AC systems. The 2017 Lincoln Navigator design will not change much from its predecessor but it will have a few improvements to make it look more modern like the grille and lights redesign and the fuel consumption will be reduced. The dashboard will have an improved design sporting some new features like the infotainment systems as well as a digital speedometer.
Engine and Specs:
The 2017 Ford Expedition will definitely arrive with a better performance with the new twin turbo 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine putting out 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet torque. The engine will be paired with a new 10R80 Select Shift transmission. Fuel consumption for the rear wheels will be 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway while for all wheels will be 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. A diesel option will be 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 with 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft torque. In the case of 2017 Lincoln Navigator, the engine will be a 3.5-liter V6 generating close to 370 horsepower and 430 p-f of torque. It might also come with a 3.6-liter with a low fuel consumption. There has been speculation of a hybrid engine for both SUVs but the manufacturers are yet to confirm.
Price and Release date:
The 2017 Ford Expedition might make it in 2016, second half of the year with a price speculation of $42,000 base model and $61,000 for the expensive trim, Platinum EL. The 2017 Lincoln Navigator will also be unveiled in 2016 going on sale in 2017 with a price of $35,000.
